Be My Friend – www.myspace.com Nutrition by Natalie Nutrition and Your Mental Health What does Nutrition have to do with mental health? You might be surprised to find out the truth behind what happens when a person has a nutritional deficiency. Nutritional deficiencies can cause all sorts of psychiatric symptoms including apathy, low energy, irritability, insomnia, low energy, agitation, fatigue, concentration problems, aches and pains, weight changes, including weight loss or weight gain. Sound a lot like the symptoms of depression? The truth is the average American Diet of fast food is low in vital Nutrition that you need for your body to function correctly. This isn’t to say that all depression is caused by bad Nutrition but it’s certainly a contributing factor in many cases and poor nutrition will always make depression worse. Antidepressant drugs also do not correct nutritional problems. So if your depressed because of nutritional problems an antidepressant will only partially cover up the problem and you body still won’t function correctly. @hodoboc i’d stay away from pizza entirely because of the crust. The crust isn’t that healthy. it has refined carbs which gets converted? into sugar once it enters your body. always stick with whole grains.

Thanks for posting this! I used to weigh almost 400 lbs, till I went for lap band surgery.and? because of this, I put more care into what goes thru my mouth. I am interested in the nutritional value rather than the taste of the food i eat. if you want to successfully lose massive amount of weight and live in LA, check out southcoastlapband. they are the best in this field.

I totally agree that physical health affects mental health. Give a child a cup of soda and see what happens to them. ? We need to eat more live foods!

  11. She might of meant to say Linus Pauling instead of Abram Hoffer at 8:32. No big deal, both worked in medicine and used orthomolecular science and “megavitamins” to study possible health benefits. Linus did win two nobel prizes. An interesting guy. Check him out.
You’re adorable Natalie! Thanks for the FREE? valuable health info!!!

No such thing as being “healthy”. Health exists but healthy does not.

There is nothing that will cure all of your diseases. Most diseases are in fact linked to dust, parasites, worms, fungi, bacteria, genetics, toxic plants, and have nothing to do with “diet”.

You can’t cure disease with diet. Its just not possible. The best way to help solve a disease is to prevent it, there is no other way. Everything else is just marketing.

No matter? what, there is going to be disease in the world.

  15. Unfortunately, in our busy life we can’t eat all the healthy balanced foods everyday, so we must take good quality supplements along with our diet. GNC’s new multivitamin, Ultra Mega®? Green, is the best mulitvitamin available. I found this to be very helpful when taken with meal once a day.
