My Resolution of Weightloss in 2010

2nd Aug 2011

Diet

My goal for 2010 was to lose 10 lbs by the end of the year. Of course, where most might consider this a small goal, for me it was a bit of a challenge.  I will explain what I did and how I got here to my current weight of 176. It was a journey all right, but I got there and now it’s to get further down the road.

To start with, I decided I was going to give up soda pop. Now, where most people could say “oh that’s not too hard” for me, it was. I was not a coffee drinker, and tea didn’t quite do it for me in the caffeine department. I wanted to have the taste of soda, more then I wanted any thing else. I was use to it in my life, so getting rid of it was somewhat of a challenge.  I began going cold turkey with this, and it really helped me feel a lot better in the end of it all. I felt more energy, and I noticed that I felt healthier alone with the replacement substance I was drinking, water, tea, and lemonade. I took out every thing that had any soda to it. No Diet soda, no regular soda, no Coke Zero. It was very hard to do, but I managed.  This one thing alone helped me a lot when it came to losing the pounds.

I began walking around my block at least once a day as well to make sure that I was getting the exercise I needed to maintain a healthy exercise regimen. This along with my taking out of soda actually helped me lose quite a few pounds. I noticed that my clothes were too small for me started to fit better as well as the ones I owned became loose on me! It was a sight to see. Though, it caused for me to have to shed a few dollars as well to buy some clothes that fit, it was well worth it.

After about a year or so, I ended up getting back on the soda, and kind of lost my way with giving it up completely. However, I did continue to exercise and instead of having a regular soda pop all the time, I had one occasionally with a dinner with friends or family. Though soda can be detrimental to your body in some ways, taking it at an easy pace is a lot better then having it all the time.

I honestly have to say though, if you’re really looking to shed a few pounds or any pounds at all, cutting out the soda intake is a very key thing to do. It helped me lose 10 pounds within a span of a year. If I worked out more and ate a little better I’m sure it would have been more.

Well, that’s the one way I lost 10 pounds in a year, and I did get to say I completed my weight loss resolution for 2010.
