<p>Overweight individuals and the elderly are at risk of developing gout. According to some studies, elderly men are more susceptible to such condition as compared to women. Aside from that, unhealthy diets also play a significant role. Gout diets are therefore important and need to be monitored to control or prevent the condition from becoming worse.</p>
<p>Many years of study has been dedicated by some researchers to establish the connection between gout and diet. Studies revealed that individuals who love seafood and fatty meat diets are the ones most susceptible because these foods contribute to the overproduction of uric acid. However, other studies also revealed that not all individuals with unhealthy diet are suffering from this condition. This leads to the conclusion that gout is triggered among individuals who have a family history of gout and at the same time, have unhealthy eating habits, inactive lifestyle, and weight problems.</p>
<p>Low fat diet can prevent and overcome the adverse effects. </p>
<p>This was based on the recent findings which also revealed that the milk proteins can help in eliminating excess uric acid. Uric acid is the primary culprit which causes gout and its production should be controlled.  You need to maintain a dietary regimen that is low in dairy fat and according to some nutritionists you can drink skim milk at least two times a day for gout prevention.</p>
<p>People who have a history of gout in their family are at risk and so they need to limit their meat intake. You may eat duck, lamb, beef, and pork but in limited proportions. Purines are contained in seafood products and so you must eat this kind of food sparingly. Aside from these food products, people who drink too much alcohol are also prone to developing gout. If you can abstain from alcoholic drinks, that would be best, but if you can&#8217;t, just try to limit your alcohol intake.</p>
<p>Some vegetables also contain purines which can cause gout. Always keep in mind that too much of anything is bad and that applies to the foods you eat everyday. Since you need these foods to maintain a healthy body, you must consume only the right amounts. Consult a nutritionist or a dietician so that you will be educated about the healthy food choices; not only that, they can also guide you in eating the right kinds of food at the right amount.</p>
<p>Drinking enough water everyday and regular exercise can boost the body&#8217;s overall health. Try to drink about 8-10 glasses of water to eliminate the harmful toxins in your body. This will also help in eliminating the excess uric acid which builds up around the joint areas.</p>

Choosing alkaline diets is the only way to live a healthy life as well as shed those extra pounds.</p>
<p>Alkaline diets require one to follow a life style completely opposite of the high protein low carb diets. The high protein diets leave the person following it fatigued and tired. It is for those who lead a stagnant life and want to shed some weight. But the weight that is lost comes back on as soon as one stops the diet. With alkaline diets this is not the case. The diets can be incorporated into ones way of life and within days the results start to show.They require one to eat about 80 % alkalizing foods so as to maintain the alkaline ph of the body to 7.4. High protein diets tend to make the ph of the body acidic as opposed to its natural alkaline tilt. When the body ph becomes acidic it attracts all illnesses and depletes one of energy. An acidic ph also results in rapid degeneration of the human body cells. That leads to a shortened life. One should stay away from these crash diets and look at achieving health and vigor by following alkaline diets instead.</p>

<p>The 17 Day DIet as Dr. Mike Moreno states is all about having fun and losing weight at the same time. He says, that allowing boredom is the worst mistake, that other diet programs do. By letting boredom come up, they take away the chances to the readers to be successful over a long period of time, so most people crack in and give up, because they are just not able to hold on to a strict diet program, that is never gonna change. The 17 Day Diet uses the number 17 as a magic number. Dr. Phil had Mike Moreno on the Dr Phil show this week, where Mike stated, that the key is to adapt to the human nature to change habits every 17 days and that&#8217;s what the diet does. It does not allow you, to fall into a repeating system, that is going on and on, forcing you to give up eventually. Instead the plan is changed every 17 days to not let boredom come up.</p>

<p>Well if we believe the book, weight loss recipes are very delicious. That&#8217;s why Mike Moreno also offers 101 recipes for low carb food, that can be eaten during the 17 Day Diet. The recipes are available as an addon to the book for about $  4.00. Many people who used this diet to get rid of their extra pounds stated, that they still eat those foods, because they just taste great. THe best of having delicious weight loss food: You can eat plenty of it without gaining weight.</p>
<p>Body Cleansing</p>
<p>The Diet can be used over a long period, though it is possible to lose up to 15 pounds in the first 17 days. That&#8217;s the first period followed by more periods. The first period however is the most tough one and supposed to cleanse your body from a lot of toxines and substances that consume your energy and keep you from losing weight. The nutrients, that have to be eaten during the first period are specifically selected, but still there is a whole variety of food recipes provided, so one always has the choice between different foods.</p>
<p>Workouts</p>
<p>What would a diet be without additional workouts to boost weight loss? We all know, that sports increase the success, when it comes to losing weight. But most of us have crunches and sit-ups in mind when they think of it. Surprisingly you won&#8217;t find any of these in the book. All you&#8217;ll find is exercises, that are incredibly easy to do. You wouldn&#8217;t believe how easy. Each workout takes&#8230; well&#8230; 17 minutes a day. The workout is also being changed every 17 days to avoid boredom.</p>
<p>In Conclusion we can state, that the 17 Day Diet is really different from other diet programs around. So if one is really willing to lose weight fast and naturally and have fun at the same time, the 17 Day Diet is definitely worth a try.
