Tips and Ideas For Success
Whenever I have been on a diet, I have begun it with unlimited enthusiasm until I reach that terrible time called “THE PLATEAU”. This is the time your weight stays the same for up to 3 weeks. It will most likely happen to you too. Don’t despair as the tips below will help you overcome this hurdle and you will get back on your bike and continue your journey. Please feel free to add comments with your ideas and we will add them to the list with ackowledgement
Eat enough calories but not too many. The average recommended daily allowance is 2,000 calories, but of course this depends on your age, sex, height, weight, and physical activity.
Eat a wide variety of foods. Introduce vegetables, whole grains, or fruits—that you don’t normally eat.
Keep portions moderate, especially high-calorie foods. Choose a starter instead of an entrée or split a dish with a friend
Drink more water. Our bodies are about 75% water. It is a vital part of a healthy diet. Water helps flush our systems.
Limit sugary foods, salt, and refined-grain products.
You can enjoy your favorite sweets and fried foods in moderation, as long as they are an occasional part of your overall healthy diet. Moderation is the key.
Get moving. A healthy diet improves your energy and feelings of well-being while reducing your risk of many diseases. Adding regular physical activity and exercise will make any healthy eating plan work even better.
In order to quickly and healthfully cut your calories, replace your usual beverages (sodas, juices, coffee, and tea) with plain water. Water is calorie free! What’s more, it is important that you drink between six and eight glasses of it every day in order to stay healthy. By switching to a water only beverage plan, you could easily cut hundreds of calories from your daily intake while still staying perfectly healthy!
When in doubt follow the food pyramid. There is no doubt that your doctor will emphasize this as well. Forget about eliminating carbs or beginning a raw food vegetarian diet. Your body needs all of the things laid out in that food pyramid. Remember, it isn’t always what you eat, but how much of it you eat that dictates how much weight you gain or lose.
5 Tips For Eating
Control your portions.
Piling up your plate is one of the main reasons for weight gain. Forget about supersizing, the golden rule is: “Stop eating when you don’t feel hungry any more, NOT when you feel full”.
Park further away from the shops
This way you get some exercise, even if you don’t have time to go to the gym.
Eat slowly.
Chew slowly, and you will end up eating less. I know it’s hard when you’re in a hurry, but trust me, it’ll make a big difference.
Eat more fresh food.
Packaged food contains a lot of preservatives and sodium, and both of them are bad for you.
Put more variety into your diet.
It will be good for your digestion, your body will get all vitamins and minerals it needs and it will taste better too!
