Detoxing, Inside and Out
Detox
Article by Detox and Cleanse
A good Detox is essential for eliminating toxins that have been introduced into your body through the air, your skin, your digestive tract, or your own internal systems. As toxins build up in your body over time, they can severely impede the functioning of all sorts of physical systems, including your reproductive system, your digestive system, your nervous system, and your immune system. Additionally, toxins can zap your energy, leaving you feeling lethargic and ill most of the time.
But you can take back your life by doing a regular Detox to cleanse your body both inside and out. In general, there are two approaches to detoxification: internal detoxing and external detoxing. We’ll discuss both types in brief here.
Internal Detoxifications
The most common way for you to Detox your body is by supporting your internal elimination organs-your liver, kidneys, colon, and lungs. By giving both space and nourishment to these organs, you can speed normal detoxification processes within your body to help it naturally get rid of toxins that are bogging it down.
Here are several methods for internally cleansing your body:
Fasting detoxes: Part of a truly committed family of Detox plans, the fasting detox is a way of rapidly cleansing your body while losing weight at the same time. These detox plans involve the elimination of food from the Diet, although they can also include things like lemonade (such as that recommended in the Lemonade Detox Diet), laxative teas, and the like. These usually last for between two and 10 days. You may also want to add vitamins, antioxidants, and herbal supplements to your fasting detox to increase its effectiveness.
Diet detoxes: These detox diet plans are centered around specific dietary recommendations. Usually, they insist that you eliminate unhealthy food choices from your Diet, including caffeine, processed foods, high-fat and deep-fried foods, nicotine, soda, white flour, sugar, and meat. Instead, you’re encouraged to eat things like organic fruits and veggies, legumes, beans, whole grains, and plant-based proteins. Organic foods and lots of water are at the top of the list of recommended items, too. Again, you may choose to add additional supplements to your cleanse to enhance the detox experience.
Colonics: Often called colon therapy or colon detox, colonics is a method of physically “scrubbing” your colon to cleanse it of petrified fecal matter and toxins that have accumulated there over the years. Colonics is similar to an enema, but much more gentle and effective. You may also be encouraged to consume cleansing agents, probiotics, and bulking agents to aid in the efficacy of the colonics.
But internal cleansing isn’t the only way to detox your body. You may also want to take advantage of external cleanse methods.
External Detoxifications
The most popular external detox method is hyperthermia detox. This method involves the use of a sauna or bath tub to bring your body temperature up. This has the effect of increasing circulation and perspiration so that your body can excrete toxins through your skin. It’s another great way to get healthy naturally.
So if you want more energy and vitality, why not give one of these detox methods a try?
