Demotivation is a key problem for some people when it comes to making gains in the gym, sometimes you just can’t get your head in gear. This is why the preworkout formula market is expanding rapidly right now. Not only do these drinks claim to give you a physical boost, they also contain ingredients like caffeine which banish tiredness and make you feel ready to attack the gym with renewed vigor.

Of course the fancy marketing material and flashy packaging are all fluff, there are much cheaper ways to get your pre gym caffeine fix, and that’s coffee. Coffee is often associated with busy professionals who need a quick pick me up before their high powered meetings, it also works perfectly as preworkout formula however, providing you with that mental boost to get you off your couch and through the front door of your Health club.

Whether you grind your own beans and use up-market coffee machines, or simply whip up your own brew using instant coffee, the hot dark stuff the ideal way to fire you up before an intense workout. There is only one disadvantage associate with this choice. Any hot liquid ingested by the body is potentially dehydrating, or at least not as hydrating as liquid at a lower temperature, this because the body will wait until the temperature of the liquid has cooled before it is drained from the stomach which works like food processors.

Taking this into account, hot coffee may not be the ideal pre workout formula, though its less popular iced counterpart would prove more suitable. Whichever way you choose to do it, a pre workout drink can enhance your session in many ways, from increasing your focus to allowing blood to flow more freely around your body. Either way the addition of a pre workout drink could make you work so much harder that your gym gear needs to go straight into washing machines when you finish with it
