Atkins Diet Recipes: Buffalo Wings (IF)
Diet
These wings are some of the best reasons to go on the Atkins Diet. They are completely legal for all phases of the Diet and absolutely delicious. The Diet Coke is a unique ingredient, but it really does the trick. I think by adding the wings to the simmering sauce, the collagen helps thicken the sauce as well. Ingredients 3 pounds chicken wings, separated at joints, tips discarded 1 cup Louisiana-style hot sauce (Franks Hot Sauce recommended) www.amazon.com 1 can Diet Coke with Splenda 1 tsp cayenne pepper, or to taste 1 tsp ground black pepper, or to taste 1/2 tsp Thyme 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1/2 TBS Dried Chopped Onions Instructions: * Cut the wings into pieces. * Mix other ingredients into large pot and start simmering. * Add wings to pot to give flavor * Heat Oil to 350-375F degrees * Add wings to fryer and cook until done (12-14 minutes) * Add wings back to Buffalo sauce and coat thoroughly (IF = Induction Friendly)

Thanks about tesco coke!!
Yes I cannot wait to make these wings, I always order buffalo wings when I eat out and I miss them
@Burguois I completely agree about Buffalo wings and this diet. Thanks for the headsup about the diet soda in England.
Buffalo wings really are a great dish. I like my food, really, really spicy so I tend to make the sauce with equal parts Blair’s after death and butter. Hot, but delicious.
Combined with a good, homemade blue cheese dressing there really is no better dish. It’s stuff like that that makes me love the diet.
And for all you UK people, there is diet cola out there that’s flavoured with sucralose. Tesco “Premium Diet Cola” has Sucralose as an ingredient. The cheaper ones do not.
@glazese Some grocers carry generic diet flavored cola. Look for sucralose as ingredient.
@MsDumbdumb11 Some grocers carry generic diet sodas, most are cola flavored. Look for sucralose as ingredient.
Diet RC Cola ingredients:
Carbonated Water , Sugar , Colour (E150d) , Phosphoric Acid , Sweeteners (Aspartame*, Acesulfame K) , Citric Acid , Flavourings (including Caffeine) , Preservative (Potassium Sorbate) , *Contains a source of Phenylalanine .
I cannot find any cola’s in England without Aspartame.
@MsDumbdumb11 Sorry Coke Zero is sweetened with aspartame, and it is not heat stable. Try to find another brand that is sweetened with sucralose.
Looks delicious. One question Is coke zero alright to use. We don’t have diet coke in New Zealand with splenda.
@bdjohnson510 You could do that. I actually like them grilled too.
Looks great but instead of frying, couldn’t you take the wings out of the sauce and spread them out on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven?
@jxr955 This is still one of my favorite ways to eat wings 3 years later. The leftover sauce also works well as salad dressing or as a sauce for other dishes. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Really delicious looking recipe. I can’t wait to try it. Also, I’ve seen your goal video and it is really inspiring. Keep up the great work. (I’m gonna go subscribe now.)
@BlackOpsReviewz Same reason is anyone is overweight. Eating the wrong things…
how is ur son fat?
Frank’s hot sauce is awesome! I just use equal parts butter to hot sauce and slather up those chicken chunks. Grill them off at the end for some nice crispy charr.
@ElaineEC Whatever the case, I am just glad people still find it interesting, entertaining, or at least informative after 5 years of making these videos.
@ElaineEC I think I cook more like a line cook that has been displaced into a kitchen not necessarily setup for cooking. On the line, usually one just assumes things are within reach or where they should be. In a family kitchen, they often are where they fit or where the last person left them. There are those with everything perfect — the perfect utensil, the perfect pans, the perfect serving trays. I like to think I am a bit more “real” than that or at least what most experience.
I *love* how you cook! You are a little disorganized, you don’t have some assistant prepping every ingredient so I can see what brands you use (most of the time), your cooking utensils don’t match and there’s a dog barking in the background… I feel right at home! lol I made the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo and that was my fave! Until I made the Chicken Paillard, then that was my fave. Can’t wait to try these wings!
