I have often stored bread either in my cupboard or my fridge throughout the years. Within the short term, a cupboard was always a good option, but if I ever left bread there for a week or two it would practically always spoil. If I needed to store bread for a prolonged time, such as when I’m not in the mood to eat it frequently, I would put it in the fridge to prevent mold from growing. Unfortunately, the tradeoff is that the bread becomes dry, stale, and not really tasty.

After some research, I came across bread boxes, which are utilized for storing bread. A bread box is meant to provide a cool, dry, and pretty air-tight area to keep the bread as fresh as possible. It was absolutely a step up from my cupboards, that are occasionally visited by roaches, and my fridge, which degrades the taste from the bread drastically.

As somebody with a taste for trying out fresh hand-made loaves of bread, I think bread boxes are a perfect storage answer. I haven’t employed any one long enough to compare the differences with storing bread in a cupboard, but I undoubtedly see the merits in using a bread box. I no longer worry about pests eating at the bread and lately I’ve continually managed to finish the bread before spoilage. Considering the low price of decent bread boxes I discover it to be a pretty worthwhile investment.

Just as a recap, in the event you decide to buy fresh loaves of bread from the bakery as compared to processed bread popular to the grocery stores we commonly visit, a bread box ought to do a good job maintaining bread quality over time. It’s a perfect addition to the home of anyone who loves bread!
