If you want to look slim, you will need to decrease your carbohydrate intake. Moving to a low carbohydrate diet doesn’t mean just swapping meat for pasta or egg for morning toast. Below are 9 useful tips to make the changeover or shift from the usual high carbohydrate diet to a low carbohydrate diet.
1. Count the carbohydrates. Go for complex ones like wholegrain breads and pasta, pulses and non-starchy vegetables and fruits.
2. Look for foods that lower glucose response. Fruits and vegetables that have the lowest glycaemic index are apples, apricots, broccoli and asparagus.

Well, congratulations, you have made a start and hopefully achieved some weight loss. It’s time to start thinking about how to reward yourself. We all know how we used to do that, yes I am talking about food. It was always there as a crutch for our failures and sadness and a reward for success and happiness. That is the last thing we want to do now so we have to reprogramme ourselves and think of other ways. You may have dropped a size in clothing so buying some clothes will make you feel good. Giving yourself a treat of going to the hairdressers or getting a manicure and/or a pedicure is another.
